what the card says to us

The picture is a rather poor reproduction of a pastel painting owned by the Tate Gallery. The artist is George Heming Mason (1818-1872)(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Hemming_Mason). It appears to have nothing to do with the message or the family.

The message is a weather report for Redditch in December 1904. It snowed.

An assumption has been made that the Florrie who sent the card is the future wife of the recipient, Florence Lizzie Burman. And that makes this card a love letter. Although the message is a bit simple, however if you apply the Language of Stamps (http://www.philatelicdatabase.com/nostalgia/the-language-of-stamps/), there is a secret message that says "I think of you".
