Bertha Leach nee Parrott (1869-1962) was the daughter of Joseph Parrott (1831-1880) and Elizabeth Eaton (1836-1906). Joseph was a Butcher.

In 1896 Bertha married Arthur John Leach (1862-1906). Arthur was a Mercantile Clerk. Sadly he died within two years of this card that mentions his health was sent. Bertha did no remarry.

In 1911 Bertha was working as an Elementary School Teacher in Clapham.

In 1939 she was living with her younger sister Mary Elizabeth Parrott (1873-?), who had been a Dressmaker.

The space below the picture has been used for the message, the reverse being given over entirely to the address.

The message itself is tinged with sadness as “Mr Leach, who is unwell, died within two years.

There is no clue to the connection between the sender, who cannot be identfied, and the Leach family.
