the recipient
Dorothea Annie Hibbart (1896-1995) was the daughter of Nathaniel Hibbart (1830-1911) and Annie Marie Windle (1856-1933). Nathaniel is in the 1881, 1891, 1901, and 1911 census as living by private means. Prior to that he had a mineral water business. He was previously married to Elizabeth Mary Barnard (1821-1891).
Dorothea never married. In 1939 she was listed as "Assistant Supervisor Class 2 London telecommunications".

what the card says to us
The picture shows Sparrow's Nest in Lowestoft which is where the card was posted. Sparrow's Nest was and still is a restaurant.
The message is curious because Lottie fully expects 9 year old Dorothea not to be there. Presumably the Hibbarts were scheduled to go on holiday, after all. it was August. And of course is a standard holiday postcard.
