what the card says to us

The picture is of St Marks Church (in-the-Bowery) in New York City (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Mark%27s_Church_in-the-Bowery). There does not seem to be any connection to the message or the people concerned.

The card was sent by Fanny to her future sister-in-law. The wedding is a year away although bride and groom had known each other for at least 4 years when the card was sent.

Fanny's mother is unwell but recovering. There is nothing to tell us where Fanny is currently living.
