the sender

There are no clues to JDM's identity.

the recipient

Mary Brace (1887-?) was the daughter of Joseph Brace (1852-1919) and Mary Ann Sommerville (1863-1927). Joseph was a Warrant Officer in the Coldstream Guard and later worked at the Wallace Collection as a museum guide.

Mary was a stenographer in 1911 and after that she drops off the radar. Interestingly, she was born in Ireland which may have been related to her father's military career.

what the card says to us

The picture shows Le Marche aux Fleurs at la Tour de l'Horloge in Paris which is where the card was sent from.

The message is short and sweet and we are given no clues as to who sent it, why they were in Paris.
