what the card says to us

The picture shows a painting of a scene set at Caversham. It does not seem to have any connection to the message or the family.

It is difficult to understand the message without more background. It is not clear quite which day Alice wants Caroline to visit on. Or what the work referred to is. She is obviously very keen to know what the plan is and she wants to know quickly. And then as an afterthought it would seem, she wishes her nephew George William Henry Watkins (1886-1944) a happy birthday by adding a message to the front of the card.
