what the card says to us

The picture is of Montacute House is a late Elizabethan mansion built in 1598. It is Grade 1 listed and is now a National Trust property (https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/montacute-house) This has no bearing on the card except that it was posted in Montacute.

This is one of two cards sent by B. Burt to Miss Hartnall. This one on September 2nd and the other a week later on September 9th.

They tell us nothing about the relationship between B. Burt and Miss Hartnall. Even the gender of B. Burt is not known.
