There are no clues to who Beatrice was or what her relationship to Florence Verstage was.

the recipient

Florence Verstage (1879-1958) was the daughter of John William Verstage (1846-1918) and Ann Rippen (1851-1931). John was a grocer by trade.

Florence did not marry and she did not appear to have a profession. In 1911 she was living with her parents and in 1939 she was with her unmarried brother Herbert William Verstage (1886-1952), a rent collector and property manager. Florence and Herbert were two of seven children, one of whom, Arthur Halcrow Verstage (1875-1969) achieved some success as an architect within the Arts and Crafts movement.

what the card says to us

The picture is entitled "Winter Days" and is a painting by "Professor Van Hier" aka Gioacchino Hierschel de Minerbi who pained many pictures for postcards.

The card itself is a simple Christmas card.
