what the card says to us
The picture shows Miss Ethel Oliver, an Edwardian actress about whom little is known (http://ridingaside.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/ethel-oliver.html).
Sadly the date of the card has been obscured by some scribbling.
The card suggests that there has been a communication breakdown within the family. At the time of the card being sent, Nina was 22 years old. Was she attending some kind of course?
"Play up Barny" sounds like a sporting chant for Barnard Castle. Was this a common chant at the time?
