what the card says to us

The picture shows the Parish Church in Staines, Surrey (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Mary%27s,_Staines). There seems to be no link to the family except that they appear to like postcards with churches on them.

Everyone mentioned in the card is referred to by an initial. S is Isabel Sarah Werrell. A is Mary Ann Neate nee Werrell (1847-1909), the recipient of another card in the collection. Mr F is probably George Floyd (1834-?), a clergyman in the village. He had a bad foot that weekend.

We learned that Mary Ann Neate went to Newbury and that the weather was not good.

The address for the card is Crookham Manor where Isabel Sarah was a housemaid for Maude Mary Baker, a widow of independent means. Crookham Manor went on to be a school with a scandal and later it was used for the children of Greenham Common protesters. It is now abandoned.
