"6a Royal Parade, Harrogate
Dear Janie
We received papers and almanac with thanks, it was kind of your mother to think of one for us, tell her we shall be writing her soon. We are having such cold foggy weather.
Love to your mother & self from us both

the sender
There are no clues to the identity of Ethel or her companion. The address at the top of the card did not exist as 6a in 1901. In 1911 there was no one called Ethel living there.

what the card says to us
The picture is labelled Miss Marian Lindsey. The assumption is that she was an actress although the internet can find little trace of her. There is a cigarette card in the New York Public Library Collection!
The message is a mixture of thanks for an almanac and a weather report for Harrogate but reveals very little.
