what the card says to us
This is the 10th card in a series of 13 involving the Cruttenden family of Hastings, Sussex
The picture is of a framed picture of people punting that has been placed on an easel. It is hard to believe that the background of brown is the original colour because it does not seem appropriate for a birthday card.
The card itself is a birthday card from a daughter to her father. Dorothy was 13 when she sent the card. There are no clues as to why she was away from home in Robertsbridge. And it's cute that she signs off with "much love and kisses" although adding "your loving daughter" is possibly over the top.
